Mission Statement:
The principal mission of Skidmore College is the education of predominantly full-time undergraduates, a diverse population of talented students who are eager to engage actively in the learning process. The college seeks to prepare liberally educated graduates to continue their quest for knowledge and to make the choices required of informed, responsible citizens. The Skidmore College Department of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation is committed to pursuing excellence both academically and athletically and subscribes to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the concept of the student-athlete. The Department seeks to be a unifying force for the College’s diverse population by providing opportunities to maximize academic, athletic and life-skill potential through core values such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, lifelong fitness and service to others. It offers a vigorous intercollegiate sports program that strives for excellence and is committed to sportsmanship and fair play.



About the Andrew J. Gargiso Foundation:
The Andrew J. Gargiso Foundation, Inc., was established in 1999, to raise funds for pediatric cancer reserach, primarily Burkitt's Lymphoma/Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and also to improve the quality of life for pediatric cancer patients. We are a non profit 501-C-3, governed by a Board of Directors, and a Medical Advisory Board. To date, our fundraising efforts have supported pediatric cancer research at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and wellness programs, gift givings, and entertainment for the Child Life Center at Langone New York University Medical Center and the Hassenfeld Center for Children with Cancer.
